The court heard that on April 4, 2016,  Kadyaumagona broke into a house of Biliati Jombo at Sandwe Village in Ntchisi where he stole a solar panel valued at K85 000.

The court further heard that upon stealing the solar panel, the convict went to Kandaya Village where he exchanged it with a pig and a small solar panel.

The convict pleaded guilty to the charge of burglary and theft contrary to Section 309 and 278 of the Penal Code respectively.

The convict has been sentenced to nine years for burglary and 15 months for theft and the sentences will run concurrently.

In his ruling, Second Grade Magistrate Young Ng’oma said he meted out the sentence to deter any would-be offenders.

Kadyaumagona hails from Sandwe Village, Traditional Authority Malenga in Ntchisi.
