Malawi Police in Ndirande Township in Blantyre have apprehended three men for an offence of breaking into a building and committing a felony contrary to section 311 sub section 1 of the penal code.

The Suspects have been identified as Steven Khanyepa, 26, Foster Namalopa,24 and a 28 year old John Cosmas.
Confirming the incident to The Malawi Star, Blantyre Police Public Relations Officer Elizabeth Divala, said the two broke into the ware house and stole the batteries worthy about MK 15 Million.
She said the ware house which belongs to Afro Egypt Engineering Company from where the workers reported the issue to Police.
“Frank Mtawali , a Worker at the company reported to Ndirande Police that unknown criminals broke into a ware house and stole 48 batteries worthy K14.5 milllion,” said Divala.
She said the three were arrested during the sweeping exercise that was conducted in the township by Police officers from Criminal Investigation Department.
Steven Khanyepa hails from Sondole Village, Traditional Authority Mulumbe in Zomba district, John Cosmas hails from Masamba Village, Traditional Authority Mpama in Chiradzulu district and Foster Namalopa comes from Mchenga Village, Traditional Authority Changata in Thyolo district.
