Man Arrested for Hacking People

Police in Ntchisi have arrested a 26-year-old man for allegedly wounding two people.

The incident happened on Saturday night, April 9, 2016 at Jamulesi Village along Malomo-Kanyulunyulu road in Ntchisi.

Police have identified the suspect as James Muliya of Jamulesi Village whereas the victims are Innocent Moyo, 55, of Kavulala Village and Mike Makwaule, 50, of Makwaule Village, all from the area of Traditional Authority Chilooko in Ntchisi.

Police report indicate that the suspect had initially reported to police that he hacked two people who were causing problems at his house.

Later it was reported that the two people were lying in agony at Jamulesi Village along Malomo-Kanyulunyulu road with deep cut wounds.

Police visited the crime scene and the victims were rushed to Ntchisi District Hospital where they have been admitted.

The suspect will appear in court soon to answer two charges of unlawful wounding.

Meanwhile the police are continuing to warn people to desist from violence and taking the law into their own hands to solve their personal differences but report such cases to police.
