There were doubts as to whether Sulom would still go ahead with the launch despite having some unresolved issues, ranging from Dedza Young Soccer’s injunction and Chilumba Barracks’ eleventh hour withdraw from the top flight.

However, Sulom’s General Secretary Williams Banda has assured all soccer loving Malawians that the new season will kick off next week as planned.

“The new season kicks off next week as planned though we are having some unresolved issues with Dedza Young Soccer and Chilumba Barracks.

“The only teams that will be affected are those with issues like Chilumba Barracks. But the remaining teams are in contention to play their opening league games,” he said.

The top-flight administrators are hoping to have the Court Injunction vacated by Dedza next week in order to set dates for the much-anticipated promotion play offs aimed at identifying the 16th team.

Earlier last week, TNM head of marketing Limbani Nsapato told this publication that the company has no intentions of raising the current K90 million sponsorship package this season saying they already did that last year.
