The Malawi Bureau of standards (MBS) has again suspended the operations of Shire Highlands Hotel due to unhygienic conditions The Malawi star has learnt.
According to information sourced from the Bureau, it has with immediate effect suspended the Limbe located Hotel using a code of Hygienic Conditions of this Country.
“The Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS) has with immediate effect suspended operations of Shire Highlands Hotel situated in Limbe due to non-compliance with hygienic conditions as stipulated in Malawi Standard Number 21: Food And Food Processing Units – Code Of Hygienic Conditions,” reads part of the statement.
Meanwhile, the bureau has advised the Malawian public to stop doing any businesses at the Hotel until the matter has been resolved.
“MBS wishes to advise the general public against patronizing Shire Highlands Hotel situated in Limbe until the hygienic conditions have been improved and the suspension is lifted by the MBS,” advises the bureau.
The suspension of the Hotel comes barely days after the bureau also suspended the operations of the Malawi Sun Hotel according to Malawi standard Number 21, stipulated in the bureau’s code of hygienic conditions.
