In what could be called a tragic drama, can someone kill a person with money that cannot even buy a packet of sugar? Police in Nkhotakota are hunting for a man who is on the run after killing his uncle over MK200 debt.

The Police have identified the suspect as Maxwell Mtenje whose other particulars are not advised.
According to Nkhotakota Police Public Relations Officer Sub Inspector Williams Kaponda, the incident occurred last week on 29th March 2016 after the deceased went to ask for his MK200.00.
‘’ The deceased owed Mtenje the sum of K200 so when he went to ask for the credit he was in turn assaulted and fell down unconscious,’’ said Kaponda.
He was taken to Nkhotakota District Hospital where he was admitted until he died.
Post mortem results conducted at the hospital showed that the deceased died due to severe head injuries.
Kaponda has since advised people in the country to refrain from violence as a means of solving their differences citing this case which could have been avoided.
The police have identified the deceased as Noah Phiri (63) who hails from Chiboko Village T/A Mphonde in the district.
