The Police have arrested three suspected notorious criminals who have been terrorizing the district by killing and breaking into different buildings.

Police have identified the suspects to be Edward Frank 17, Synoden Mike 32, and a 31-year-old Mathews Davis.
Confirming the development to The Malawi Star, Mangochi Police Deputy Public Relations Officer Sergeant Amina Tepani Daudi said that some of the suspects are still on the run. They have been terrorizing the district since January.
‘’These Suspects together with others at large, operated from Blantyre and joined the suspects in Mangochi in which they brought terror to the residents here since January 2016,’’ said Daudi. It is alleged that the Suspects broke into Mama Khadija Girls’ Academy on 7thJanuary, 2016, and went away with K2, 208,551.25 in cash.
On the night of 13th January 2016, they stormed Mariam Girls’ Teachers Training College in which they went away with K780, 000.00 cash. She further told this publication that the suspects also broke into Mangochi District Hospital Offices where they stole office equipment on the same night.
It is also reported that in the night hours of 1st February 2015, the suspected three and their gang of marauding Hyenas broke into a certain businessman’s house at Namwera Trading Centre and helped themselves to K447,000.00 in cash, MTL and TNM airtime Vouchers before cutting the owner’s finger with a panga knife.
