Saidi Mtekama and Joseph Dosa did the damage as Bullets midfield looked very porous throughout the entire match.

The Soldiers were lethal from the word go as they terrorized Bullets defence which was being led by Sankhani Mkandawire, Chiku Kanyenda and Emmanuel Zoya. Patrick Masanjala, Mtekama and Martin Masoatheka were brilliant on the day as Davie Ng’ambi, Jimmy Chikulekule and George Nyirenda failed to tame their pace.

After the half hour mark, Mafco scored from the spot through Mtekama who slotted past Owen Chaima in goals for the visitors, 1-nil. Come second half, it was the same old story as Mafco dominated in the midfield to frustrate the League Champions who were below par in the match. Dosa doubled Mafco’s lead few minutes in the half when he managed to beat Zoya in defence for the people’s team.

Bullets introduced Amadu Makawa for Ng’ambi but finding the back of the net proved too difficult for the visitors. Mtekama almost sealed the game with some few minutes to play when his shot was well served by Chaima for a corner. Bullets had some chances in the half but could not find the back of the net and after 90 minutes of play, it ended 2-0 in favour of the Soldiers.

Bullets Coach Franco Ndawa said he was not disappointed with the defeat as it will help him to sort out his team before kicking off the new season. The Blantyre based giants will play another friendly match on Sunday at the same venue against Silver Strikers.

In other friendly matches, Kamuzu Barracks demolished Blue Eagles 2-nil at Chitowe whilst Max Bullets thumped Nsanama FC of Machinga 3-1. At Civo, Epac got the better of Civo Service United by claiming a 1-nil victory over the Servants on Friday afternoon.
