Inside sources have confided that they learnt about the missing luggage soon after arriving in Free Town for a friendly training match before enrouting to Conakry for the crucial 2017 African Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier against Guinea on Friday.

However, the Flames will still wear usual red colour jersey against the National Elephants. The team will return to Malawi on Sunday for the second leg match against Guinea on Tuesday afternoon at Kamuzu Stadium.

Winning both matches will likely keep qualification hopes alive for their third Afcon finals appearance ever.

The last time Malawi appeared at Afcon final was in 2010 in Angola where they finished bottom of group A with three points in the group stages.

Mozambican based players are yet to join the squad but Joseph Kamwendo, Robert Ng’ambi, Micium Mhone, Harry Nyirenda and

have all joined the squad.

The Flames are third in group L with a point, four points behind leaders Swaziland.
