By: Chikondi Magalasi The newly promoted Dwangwa United football club has said that preparations for the 2016 soccer s ![]() eason are going very well as there is less than a month for the new season’s kickoff. Speaking with The Malawi Star on Wednesday afternoon, the club’s General Secretary Samson Zimba said they have played a number of friendly games that are assuring them of their fitness. “At this moment, our preparations for the next season are going very well and we have played so many friendly games so far,” said Zimba. The General Secretary further said that currently they have a lot of players who are trying their luck at the club hoping that they might be on the final squad. He added that at this moment they can not disclose the names of players that have been bought as they are waiting for the Technical panel to finalise the selection for the final squad. “We can’t name the players that we have brought in as at this time. Our Coaches are still assessing them and once they finalise everything, we will release the final squad,” added the General Secretary. Dwangwa United received TNM Super League promotion ticket after they emerged the Champions for the Central Region Association Football League in the 2015 soccer season. The Nkhotakota based outfit, hired former Escom United and Azam Tigers Mentor, Mac Donald Mtetemera, as one way of fulfilling the Club licensing terms replacing Rodwell Mbetewa. |
