According to inside sources, The Malawi Star has been reliably informed that the deal will be officially signed this coming Thursday at Chiwembe Technical Centre in Blantyre.

Though details of the deal are not yet revealed, it has been reported that the two parties will sign a long term contract.

It has also been revealed that Football Association of Malawi (FAM) President Walter Nyamilandu was the architecture in securing the deal.

SRFA Chairman Raphael Humba told the local press last week during prize presentation ceremony at FAM offices that a new sponsorship deal will soon be unveiled this week.

“I will call the media again next week to officially unveil our new sponsors. It’s a very good deal from a very good company,” said Humba last week.

Initially, the deal was meant to be signed last year before FAM’s general elections in Mangochi but Nyamilandu postponed the ceremony saying football lovers would take it as a campaign tool for the elections.

Humba and Nyamilandu are close allies; with others suggesting that it was the SRFA Chairman who influenced the incumbent FA President to seek for a fourth term of office.

Nsejjere fooled SRFA in 2015 when they promised to sponsor the league with a K10 million sponsorship deal only to pull out mid-way through the season.

FAM had to come to their rescue with a K4.5 million cheque which was shared amongst the top performers during the just ended season.
