A Malawian man, whose identity is yet to be revealed, was saved by community members in Tokoza, South Africa, after being set alight by an Ethiopian man following an argument on Saturday.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Lungelo Dlamini of South African Police, Malawian citizen was doused with paraffin and set alight before being rescued by the community members who later pounced on the Ethiopian man.
“Police rescued an Ethiopian national from the community and arrested him on charges of attempted murder. This followed an incident in which a Malawian national who went into the suspect’s shop was allegedly doused with paraffin and set alight after an argument,” he said.
Community members who witnessed the incident helped the victim and was later taken to the hospital.
