Super League Kick off Delayed
By: Andrew Cane Chilapondwa
Super League of Malawi (Sulom) has announced the new kickoff date for TNM Premier League 2016 season.
Initially, the league was supposed to kick off on 9th April 2016 but sponsors have postponed to 16th of the same month due to other company engagements.
Sulom’s General Secretary Williams Banda said his body asked TNM to try to shift their engagements earlier than the kickoff date.
However, Big Bullets and Mighty Wanderers will battle it out for glory in the Charity Shield organized by Football Association of Malawi (FAM).
According to Sulom, league champions Bullets will play host to a team yet to be identified.
The new season will see 16 teams playing in the league, with the name changing from the current Super League status to Premier League.
Bullets won the title last year with 66 points and were seconded by Mafco FC
since it will now be called Tnm Premier League so the name SULOM (super league of Malawi) must change. Ndiye idzitchedwa chiyani?
