Missing Boy with Albinism Yet to Be Found

Police in the Country are still hunting for two unidentified people who abducted a nine year old boy with albinism in Machinga district.

The boy was abducted last week on Friday night in Mpakati Village, Traditional Authority Chikweo in the district.

According to the Police in Machinga, two men broke into a house belonging to a 22 year old, Edna Ceydrick and abducted her child, leaving her behind. Ceydrick screamed for help but no one could rescue her innocent child.

Speaking with The Malawi Star, Eastern region Police spokesperson sergeant Autilia Kumanga, investigation team from Police is still investigating the matter.

“Right now we are still investigating the issue and are trying our best,” said Kumanga.

The Law enforcers publicist further made it clear that so far Police have not found the abductors and the boy.

“The Nine year old boy has not been found and besides no one from the abductors has been arrested, ” Added Kumanga.

People with albinism in the country have been living in fear as there have been misconceptions that their bones can be used for rituals for one to accumulate wealth.
