Malawi’s main Opposition party, the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) member Ulemu Msungama is in hands of Police in connection with treason charges levelled against some members of the party, The Malawi Star can reveal.
Confirming the development, MCP’s deputy Spokesperson Ezekiel Chin’goma said police have nabbed Msungama and he is at Kanengo Police
Reports reaching The Malawi Star shows that police are also hunting for the party spokesperson Dr Jessie Kabwila and Louis Chikhwantha in connection with treason charges.
Recently, there have been reports that MCP is planning to overthrow the ruling party, Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) which is under President Peter Mutharika.
