MP Rachael Nazombwe Zulu Geared to End Early Marriages

Former Minister of Tourism who is Member of Parliament for Mchinji Rachael Nazombwe Zulu, wife to prominent Politician George Zulu, has challenged girls to work had in school if they are to achieve meaningfulness in their lives. Zulu who lost her mother while in standard 7 and lost her father while in form 1 was speaking in an exclusive interview with our Reporters.

Zulu is MCP Deputy Organizing Secretary and having educated women is more productive for the nation. “My passion is to see girls finishing their education, I feel pain to see girls dropping out of school,” said Rachael Zulu. She said that her constituency already operates a well-organized committee which aims at advocating on issues to do with early marriages. “Currently, the committee has already recalled some girls from the early marriages and their families have paid goats to the chief as set by the committee.

Rachael Zulu is one of renowned and strong politician currently serving her second term in office as MP. Zulu in 2019 managed to floor Democratic Progressive Party candidate who at that time was a strong contender. Zulu is currently, pursuing BA Studies in Business Administration and is expected to graduate soon.
