The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) youth is holding all-inclusive indaba this weekend at Mungo Park in the Capital City Lilongwe in order to strategize on the upcoming 2019 election.

DPP Blue League Vice National Coordinator Dumisani Lindani, confirmed about the meeting. “Yes, it’s true that we are having a meeting this Saturday. The function is there to enhance unity amongst the youths and will give an opportunity to them to help in formulating the country’s youth agenda under the leadership of Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika who is their patron.” said Lindani.

Lindani said; “This is a national gathering of Blue League which marks the critical time when all youths and professionals in the mighty Democratic Progressive Party – DPP gather to celebrate unity and begin all works towards the party’s landslide victory in 2019, and continued support to Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika’s development agenda”, Lindani said in an interview ahead of the event.

Lindani said the function is one of its kind and “We believe that from here the youths under Blue League will be able to be a part of the country’s development agenda through the initiation of projects that will enhance social and economic development in the country”, Lindani said.

Lindani added “as a youth group, we have contributed money from our pockets towards the event as one way of showing responsibility and that as party wing we cannot be relying on handouts but rather fish out the little that we have as individuals to put up this event,” said Lindani.

Lindani hinted that the door is open for other interested youths from other political parties who would want to join the grouping and work to help develop the country.

“Blue League, a youth wing of the Democratic Progressive Party DPP is on Saturday bringing together youths from across the country to a get together in Lilongwe as way of celebrating the country’s 53rd independence anniversary and also to interact with party officials.”

Blue League is a group of DPP professional youths that was formed to help the party in different areas such as research, strategy formulation and help in advancing the country’s youth agenda.
