Devotion: Moralistic Therapeutic Deism; not a Western Philosophy but a Global Catastrophe

Psalms 24:1-, “The earth is the LORD’S and the fullness thereof,; the world and they that dwell therein, for or He hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods. Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord and who shall stand in His holy Place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.”

Man has made bogus and pathetic claims and ventured into numerous futile quests for a long time now to try and prove his own existence. The fact will always be that GOD created the world and all the cares abound.

However, man’s rebellious nature entangled him in a maze he could never break out of. The fallen Lucifer and his devious minions sought to pervert man and cripple his way to heaven through sin so as to lead all God’s creation to the burning inferno that awaits him. Jesus Christ the king came down to save all mankind from the inevitable fires of hell and lead up to heaven.

“All that glitters is not gold.” There is a new religion and way of life that stinks of rebellion in the sight of God and it takes the form of Moralistic Therapeutic Deism. The idea that yes we acknowledge the existence of a supreme being who created the world and all that dwells in it; the creator is in charge of all other things that may happen in the world BUT is not part of our day to day lives and that we forge our destiny by our intellect and earthly wisdom.

When we ask the question, “Why did Jesus have to die for our sins?” we must be careful not to question God’s supremacy over mankind. Deuteronomy 32:4 assure us that God’s peculiar and wonderful plan of salvation is perfect, upright, and just. God says, “He is the Rock, His works are perfect, and ALL His ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright, and just is He. Today we sing a hymn, Rock ages cleft for me, let me hide in thee because our spirit and soul know God’s heartbeat.

We should be careful not to imply that perhaps God should have considered another alternative for our salvation. There was and still is no any other way that all men can be saved but by the MIGHTY NAME OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.

It is our nature to disobey and thus we always think that our intellect yield better methods as compared to God’s wisdom BUT the word of God categorically states that there is a way that may seem right to a man and the wages thereof are DEATH. 1 Corinthians 1:23, “But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jew a stumbling block, and unto the Greeks foolishness.”

God’s peculiar and wonderful
God’s peculiar and wonderful

The living reality of Jesus Christ is a stumbling block to our puny intellect, which would prefer the setting up of an earthly kingdom with all its meager riches are compared to the abundance in the kingdom of heaven. We do not comprehend well that God’s Kingdom is not and will never be like the kingdoms of this world.

The idea of a supernatural being in full control our world is almost unacceptable because that means we have to give the whims and wants of our flesh to the will of God. We just love being in control f everything. The devil utilizes this window to plant his seed of disobedience and thus men conjure such catchy phrases as moralistic therapeutic deism to refer to disobedience.

The Gospel is the best joke ever told to foolish minds. How can God who was, and is and is to come; this Eternal Word that was at the conception of this world, and God indeed be born as a child and grow up to be a King among all God’s creation? It is absolute foolishness and puzzling to intellectuals who prefer the idea of a life that is solely designated for their own satisfaction and no-one-else.

Christ came to save mankind and to rebuild the broken relationship between man and God the Father. Jesus said told us that we ought to love one another just as He loved us so. He never looked at our sins or physical appearance but loved sinners and believers the same. He commanded us to abide in Him as He does with the father and in so doing we should be in perfect relationship with the father. This is why He came to die for our sins; to stand as a propitiation for our sins that we may be free from such mediocrity and fallacies as moralistic therapeutic deism. These are indeed the last days and the devil will not tire to conjure new tricks and lead us all to hell fire, there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth there.

Beloved, I assure you now, that all the kingdoms of this world will come to pass but the King that sits on David’s throne shall defy the seeds of time and His reign shall go unto eternity. We shall be witnesses of His reign in a little while, and woe is he that is not ready for the coming of the King. Behold every knee shall bow and every tongue will shout the name of Jesus confessing that He is the King above all kings and Lord of Lords.
