According to one of the watchmen, Moses Ngwira, the said thugs were on a mission to rob from the post-office.

“They were armed with Panga knives and about two of them had guns,” said Ngwira.

Petros Mgomezulu-another watchman recalled that they (thugs) tied and warned them not to scream or risk being butchered.

“They went on and broke into the offices where they stole many things,” he said.

Mzuzu Police publicist, Martine Bwanali who confirmed the incident claimed that about six suspects have already been arrested.

However, he was quick to unveil that a manhunt for the remaining criminals has already been launched.

“We have also managed to recover goods worth millions of Kwachas from these criminals but we are hunting for others who are currently at large,” said Bwanali.

Meanwhile, reports reaching The Malawi Star indicate that terror has engulfed some residents across the city because of the remaining suspects who may go on to terrorize the city if they are not caught soon.
