Despite assembling a youthful squad ahead of the new season the area 47 based giants are optimistic of having a very successful campaign with such a promising crop of players.

Speaking in an interview with The Malawi Star publication, General Secretary for the club Chimwemwe Nkhwimba reassured all Silver Striker Faithfulls that the team is ready to bring back lost glory days to the Central Bankers.

“We have recruited talented young stars who are hungry for success and are willing to bring back glory days to the club. We had a very positive pre-season games where we did well in readiness for the new season.

“We are promising all Bankers’ fans that we will restore back their happiness considering that we had a trophyless campaign last season where we failed to make it into the top four. We are urging them to rally behind the team and support these young stars,” he said.

The Bankers have roped in Levison Maganizo, Thuso Paipi, Mark Fodya and Brighton Munthali from Wizards FC, Chisomo Mpachika from Dedza Young Soccer and Clement Trota from Nsundwe FC plus many more young stars who have carried the hopes of Silver fans.

Their final preparation game before the new season will be against Mighty Wanderers on Sunday at Silver Stadium.

The Bankers released more than ten players, the latest being Peter Pindani, following recommendations from Lovemore Fazili led technical panel.
