Malawian Poet Qabaniso Malewezi, popularly known as “Q”, has released his first ever spoken word poetry album.
The new album is titled ‘people’ in which he arguably cements his voice in local poetry and word which is available online.
He announced his latest album on his facebook page where he says “and the album is officially released. You can buy the album from my Facebook page. Just click “buy my album” on the tap section. It’s that simple.”
He is also expected to release a video for the album on the world poetry day which falls on 21 march every year.
Q has reiterated that the dream of releasing the album online is mainly to target people outside the country.
“The online release is mainly for people outside Malawi who cannot purchase the actual CD. I have had many requests asking if they can buy it online,” he said.
Meanwhile, the album will be launched on 2 April at Bingu International Conference Centre (BICC) in the capital Lilongwe.
The launch will also be graced by South African poet, Vangile Gantsho as well as DRC asylum seeker slam poet, Menes, Benedicto Wokomaatani Malunga, Robert Chiwamba and many other local poets.
