Tributes have poured in from across Malawi for the musician Grace Chinga after she died from a short illness.
Hundreds of Malawians gathered in Blantyre’s Robins Park to celebrate the life of a woman whose career spanned a decade and tributes were also left in her home village.
Chinga was widely regarded as one of the most influential gospel artist of all time.
During her career, Chinga was known for constantly reinventing herself, including introducing characters in her music.
Her death has shocked the nation as it was only days before the release of her new album entitled Ndizaulula
Artists performing at the ceremony are Thoko Suya, Falesi Mang’anda, Evans Meleka, Apostle Chithela, Donex Muva and Ethel Kamwendo Banda among others.
Meleka performed a track he featured Chinga titled Andimenyera Nkhondo (Palibe bwenzi)
