The Opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) is plunging into chaos after some party members have obtained a court order to hold an immediate convention.

Reports reaching The Malawi Star shows that on Friday the High court in Lilongwe ordered the MCP to hold a convention within the next 90 days.
Party members that seek court guidance are demanding Lazarus Chakwera to step down claiming he has failed to manage the party. They indicated that the current leader has failed to follow the party constitution and should pave a way for someone to take over.
“Chakwera has failed to lead the party and we are calling for an immediate convention. This is the only way to settle the problem. We are serious and we and we will do it. It’s everyone’s freedom to express his or her democratic right”, said the source who is among those pushing for the MCP leader to step down.
The court application for the complainants has been made by Lawyer Wesley Namasala.
But efforts to speak with MCP publicity secretary proved futile when we went to the press
Chakwera is busy finding ways of getting to state House. Please be informed that the way to State House is to lead a Strong & United Party!!!!!!!!!!!! Forget of winning any election with your Visanza party!
