Instead of avoiding the already frustrated fans, Phiri lost his temper and started beating one of them in front of his team-mates.

When contacted, both the goal keeper and the team’s executive committee members were not available for a comment.

Phiri has recently been criticized for his form when he is told to be between the two sticks.

“We only invaded the dressing room to show our frustrations with how he (Phiri) performed today but we were surprised to see him grabbing one of us and started beating him in front of his own team-mates,” said one of the fan who opted for anonymity.

Nomads lost 2-1 to the rockiest in a friendly match as they build up for the season ahead. It is still not known whether the shot-stopper, who made headlines during his debut season at Nomads for his best performance, will face disciplinary action or not.
