New Managing Director for Airtel

Airtel Malawi has appointed Mr Charles Kamoto as a new Managing Director with effect from 1^st March 2016.

Charles joined Airtel in May 2014 as Chief Commercial Officer. He has been greatly instrumental in the growth and building up of Airtel’s success and capability within the commercial functionality of the company by providing a competitive customer value proposition for Malawi.

Before joining Airtel Malawi, Charles was the chief commercial officer at Telekom Networks of Malawi Limited (TNM) where he initially worked as head of commercial division between 2008 and December 2010.

He later became the chief commercial officer from January 2011 until May 2014, when he joined Airtel.

Christian De Feria, the Chief Executive Officer for Airtel Africa said, “As the managing director for Malawi, Charles will continue to build on his good work to innovate winning customer solutions for Malawi.  He will be directly involved in consolidating the gains made in defending our revenue market share and build external stakeholders relations. I would like to congratulate Charles on his well deserved appointment and wish him every success in his new role,” 

Charles is a holder of a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the university of Malawi ~ The Polytechnic, and an MBA from the Eastern and Southern African Management institute (ESAMI).
