… Kabwira still on the run
Opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) through its publicity secretary, Alekeni Menyani has categorically reiterated that they are not scared of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) tactics to intimidate its members.

Speaking just after the release of Ulemu Msungama in Lilongwe, Menyani said the DPP will not prescribe how they will express their views on whatsapp or elsewhere.
He said, “It is very unfortunate that a harmless whatsapp group will result into hunting of members of parliament and arrest of party officials. As a party we are not scared, and we are not going to be intimidated by this. We cannot be and we will not be intimidated.”
Meanwhile, National Police Spokesperson Nicholas Gondwa has confirmed that
Msungama has been released on bail.
According to Gondwa, Msungama shares the charges with vocal MCP Publicist Jessie Kabwila and official Peter Chakwantha, contrary to Section 51 of the Penal Code.

Msungama was arrested on Sunday after a Whatsapp conversation in which MCP
members were planning to oust Mutharika.
Msungama chairs the legal committee in the parliament ,while Kabwila is the chairperson for the women’s caucus in the August House.
