Malawi Police in Thyolo district are hunting for a Man who is being suspected of killing a 24 year old, James Jimuon allegations that he was having an affair with his daughter.
The body of deceased was found floating in Namadzi river on Valentine day’s eve in the district.
According to Thyolo Police Spokesperson Inspector Edith Kachotsa, the suspect who resides in the same village of Nkundi in the area of Traditional Authority Ngolongoliwa was overheard saying he will deal with the deceased after discovering that was going out with his daughter.
“After discovering that Jimu was dating his daughter, the suspect got angry and promised to deal with the victim as one way of warning him to stop going out with his child,” said Kachotsa.
According to Kachotsa, on February 12 the suspect was seen chasing the victim towards Namadzi river within the village.
The victim never returned home after the incident but his body was found floating in the Namadzi river on the following day.
“On 13th February the Victim’s body was found floating in Namadzi with stabbed wounds on the head and ears,” explained Kachotsa.
Post-mortem results conducted at Thyolo District Hospital shows that the death was caused by strangulation and loss of blood.
Meanwhile Police are looking for the suspect whom his whereabouts remains unknown.
