CHAMANGWANA APPOINTED INTERIM HEAD COACH FOR NOMADS
Mighty Beforward Wanderers FC has appointed former Malawi national football team assistant Coach, Jack Chamangwana, as interim Head Coach, The Malawi Star can reveal.
Chamangwana will take the role of Eliya Kananji who currently does not have CAF B coaching licence as recommended by Football Association of Malawi (FAM) in as far as club licensing is concerned.
Confirming the development in an interview with The Malawi Star, Wanderers general secretary, Mike Butao, insisted that Kananji has not been demoted.
“Kananji has not been demoted.Jack will work as Technical Manager this season but act as Head Coach during the time that Kananji is attending his CAF C and CAF B courses,” he explained.
From 2016 soccer season, Football Association of Malawi (FAM) is recommending that all Super League teams should employ CAF B coaching licenses holders.
So far there have seen a number of technical panel changes in other Malawi top tier league as Standard Bank Cup Champions have hired Dedza Young Soccer Coach, Milias Jegwe Pofera, as new Coach replacing Oscar Kaunda, who does not have required licence.
All newly promoted sides have roped in new Mentors, Leo Mpulula has joined Max Bullets, Dwangwa United has hired McDonald Mtetemera and Chilumba Barracks has employed Stereo Gondwe.
